Sanju Movie Review: An Attempt to Stay Away from Controversies

The much awaited movie finally hit the theatres today. And i was among the first ones to watch it. Sanju movie was expected to reveal many truths and facts about Sanjay Dutt and his family. But quite disappointed as the movie progressed, I waited for some novelty. And the wait never ended.

If you go by the positive Sanju movie reviews given by most of the newspapers, you will be bluffed. Here is an honest Sanju review.

It is a typical Rajkumar Hirani movie which has humour and serious talent. All actors were the best. Ranbir was outstanding in Sanju movie. But outstanding acting was not what the audience expected after watching the trailers on television and internet.

There was Drugs, there was AK 56, RDX, Yerwada Jail, that’s it. And yes, Father Son relationship. Nothing else.  No personal life. Limited family mentions, Sanjay Dutts sisters were seen in the movie but poor characters had no dialogues, just a little sobing and smiling.

Almost half of the movie was about drug addiction and rest had guns and jail. His wife, kids, bollywood friends none of them got a chance to be part of the story. The unwanted part was unnecessarily stretched and most required story was purged. Many details were skipped, and reasons were hidden. Editing was done so seriously that the story looks incomplete. Looks like the film makers' attempt to stay away from controversies spoiled all the fun.

My Sanju Movie Rating: 2.5 out of 5

Godzilla 3D 2014 Movie Review

Source: http://img2.timeinc.net/ew/i/2014/04/06/godzilla-trailer-02.jpg

Here’s my short review for Godzilla 2014 movie.

Roaming around by my self, I saw the banners and posters of Godzilla at the mall which released on May 16. And thought Why not pass my time with the monster. But later I realized that was a bad idea.

Expect nothing & you would never get disappointed.. that has been my motto for life but why did I forget that when I planned to watch this movie :(

Unrealistic plots and underestimated characters didn't really make it worth watching. A Japanese scientist speaking the perfect english and having puzzled look throughout the movie, Japanese monster attacking United states, Godzilla fully displayed only after movie has reached half of it (oh yes, till then it was just the legs and the tail). And since I watched it in 3D, I must say no action thrilled me with the 3d effects.

After the negativism, I would be a little generous to share the good part about the movie i.e. the clash between Godzilla and the 8-legged MUTO (another monster). Their battle kept me engrossed in the movie. If the 3D effects were improvised, my review here could have better encouraged you to watch the movie.

After Spiderman 2, Godzilla really attracted me towards it. But No yaaaa, its just not done. I am still wondering why there are so many positive reviews for Godzilla across the web!

2 out of 5 for this one.

I would say watch it with no expectations.

Dhoom:3 Movie Review: Watchable once

I am one of those very few people who liked the movie! The auto-rickshaw stunt, amir’s tap dance, bike turning into jet-ski, too many slow motion shots and un-revealed process of robbery, all contribute to the downsides of Dhoom:3 movie. Not to forget the Dhoom: 3 songs – incredibly boring.

Needless to mention, Dhoom 3 cast has Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Uday Chopra, Jackie Shroff, Tabret Bethell as Victoria – the Bipasha this time for Uday Chopra, Siddharth Nigam – the young Amir and the list goes on….

Here's the meaning of the anthem of Dhoom:3...
Bande hain hum uske, humpe kiska zor - We are His men & only He can control us
Umeedon ke sooraj, nikle chaaron or - Rays of hope is rising all around us
Iraade hain fauladi, himmati har kadam - Our determination is strong & every step is courageous
Apne haathon kismat likhne, aaj chale hain hum - We start today to write our fate with our own hands

With the long list of flaws in the movie, here is something that the movie caught correctly.. action and suspense. Well if you know the complete story (with complete, I mean the 2nd half of the movie), do not watch it all, you’ll weep from start to end. But with the suspense and base story created from the start of the movie, you’ll enjoy it without losing interest for the entire 172 minutes movie duration. The only point that earlier 2 Dhoom movies lacked was the base story. This movie has that. I wish one more thing was added in the movie - some high heels for Amir. They usually do that, here was it because they didn’t want it to be fake? Well, an addition to the long faking list wouldn’t have harmed the movie.

Few days before the movie release, a message was wandering around creating rumors. This is how it went: “Amir Khan dies in the starting of Dhoom:3 that only Uday Chopra knows, then he makes the master plan by teaming up with Kamaal Hassan and remaining robbery is done by Kamaal Hassan wearing Amir ‘s mask who reveals himself at the end of the movie”. Forget about Amir’s mask and Kamaal Hassan. Uday Chopra makes the master plan? Of all Uday Choppraa?? – the item boy of Dhoom series??

The auto-rickshaw stunt, although insensible, but was an entertaining one and Thank God, the 3-wheeler broke after few mind-boggling stunts, else audience would be found breaking their chair within the first 30 minutes of the movie.

Amir is known for the awesome messages he conveys from his movies. May be in this one, nobody heard his thoughts during the making of the movie. Let aside the logic, songs, Katrina's tiny role. One very wrong message shown in the movie is "When you fail, end your life". Rather it should have been Suicide is not the last option, it's never an option.

In short, the movie doesn’t need any logic to be applied, Watch it for the suspense, action and few circus stunts and of course if you are a fan of Amir Khan as I am or if you drool for Ms. Kaif.

Dhoom:3 review: Watchable once.
