The Silence Left Behind

Once, your calls arrived before my thoughts,

As if my heartbeat had already reached you.
You waited for my words,
And even when I had none,
You understood my silence.

You searched for reasons to meet,
Turned ordinary moments into memories,
Made time feel lighter,
And distance feel smaller.

Then, quietly... something changed.

The phone no longer rang.
The messages grew shorter,
The meetings disappeared,
And the silence you once understood
Became the silence you left behind.

I still wonder what changed
Was it time,
Was it life,
Or did I simply stop being someone
You wished to know?

We were perfect for each other.

To speak out hearts out.

But little did I know,

I was saying too much, 

You weren't interested as such.

Strange how love doesn't always end with goodbye.
Sometimes it fades in unanswered calls,
Unkept promises,
And conversations that never begin again.

The hardest part isn't that you stopped caring.
It's remembering the person
